Extinction Rebellion DC and
Chesapeake Climate Action Network
Extinction Rebellion is a decentralized, international and politically non-partisan movement using non-violent direct action and civil disobedience to persuade governments to act justly on the Climate and Ecological Emergency.
The Chesapeake Climate Action Network (CCAN) is the first grassroots, nonprofit organization dedicated exclusively to fighting global warming in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. Their mission is to build and mobilize a powerful grassroots movement in this unique region that surrounds our nation’s capital to call for state, national and international policies that will put us on a path to climate stability.
I vocally provided my input in this rate case, along with fellow Extinction Rebellion DC and CCAN members, to show the Public Service Commission of the District of Columbia that recklessly using fossil fuels is not the future D.C. wants.
Washington Gas Light Company’s (WGL) Application to Increase Distribution Rates (FC1180) Community Hearing — 4/29/25, Streamed live on YouTube April 29, 2025. Watch the full community hearings here.
Come to future Extinction Rebellion DC and Chesapeake Climate Action Network events to advocate for a cleaner, more sustainable future in the DMV and world.

Bees & Refugees
Bees & Refugees is an environmental justice organisation introducing beekeeping as a therapeutic and community-building craft to refugee and local communities in London (hence the spelling), whilst supporting the UK’s native black bee population to flourish.
As a Communications and Research volunteer, I was able to help out despite being across the pond. Click here to contribute to their important mission.
Environmental Film Festival in the Nation’s Capital
Since 1993, the Environmental Film Festival in the Nation’s Capital (DCEFF) has harnessed the power of film and community to illuminate, celebrate, and inspire positive and lasting action for our planet.
Having a love of film and the dedication to fight climate injustice, the Environmental Film Festival in the Nation’s Capital has been incredibly rewarding. Click here to attend, and hopefully volunteer, at the next festival.
